About me

My philosophy

Every work and life experience contributes to who you become and what you have to offer, no matter the job role. If you ignore any part, you are missing the person as a whole.

My work and life experiences

Here is a sample of my work and life experiences that shaped the UX writer, content designer, and human I am today.

Teacher who made “aha” moments possible for teens

Recognized the “aha” moments of understanding in my students. Invited to teach at Preston Junior High School, known at the time for its hand-selected master teachers.

Manager who took risks that enabled individuals to grow

Top-rated Voice of the Workforce scores in my division by inspiring others to grow and be successful.

Team lead who embodied the power of we

Led teams to successfully deliver on all projects in scope and on time.

Technical writer who simplified complex topics

Simplified complexity for a wide range of technical topics that were learned on the job. Topics included IT and network management, utility data centers, automated hardware and software provisioning, and programming languages. Led an online help workshop to share best practices with other writing teams.

Magazine publisher driven to be a catalyst for change

Successfully launched a magazine from scratch for dive rescue professionals. Led to the life-saving mammalian dive reflex response training for local rescue and hospital professionals.

Running coach with contagious enthusiasm

Recognized by parents for fostering the belief in possibilities and a passion for running. Our team placed third in the regional championships not by the drive to win, but by the drive for personal bests.

Passionate fundraiser for at-risk youth

Rallied a village of volunteers to bring a successful fundraiser to fruition. The goal: help at-risk youth “move on up” to career aspirations. Invited to continue the program.
